I am writing this while glancing at "Point Blank" and having just finished watching Herzog's "Encounters at the End of the World".

Lee's ex just offed herself.

So, Death is truly a great find, I have forgotten the exquisite detail of every song. I could have mustered this last week after listening intently but here is my summary: a band right at the crossroads of The Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Blue Oyster Cult and some modern neo-psychedelia like Phish. All-out hipster extravaganza.

I'm not sure yet what to make of Hasil Adkins. Sure, the songs are absolutely fascinating as is the garage/barn dirt-ethos recordings.
Lonely is as lonely does. i keep seeing a grimy lens capturing the drunken and obsessively compelled barn-swallows circling some cheap condenser microphone.

Angie Dickinson is cute and sexy.

I think Hasil's perspective will grow on me.

I thought for a fleeting moment that I way out-hipped you while watching "Encounters at the End of the World". The soundtrack returned often to the spectral sounds of an all-female choir. I id'd it as the Bulgarian State Television Women's Choir. I was wrong though, it was similar but even more obscure, credited to;

"Tsmindao Gmerto Orovela"
Performed by Female Chorus Group by National Music School of Telavi.

Maybe I should double check......

I recognize the Santa Monica locations in "Point Blank".
Both the park and the hotel. I enjoyed happy hour appetizers and cheap margaritas at that hotel.mdoggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11683860463422580736noreply@blogger.com
